SHIMLA: HIMACHAL Pradesh claims the dubious distinction of having the highest urban unemployment rate in India, as per the latest PLFS data revealed on December 3rd, stated  Chetan Bragta, BJP state spokesperson

He cited the alarming statistic, stating that 34% of individuals aged 15 to 29 are unemployed in the state. Shockingly, the data also indicates a staggering 49% unemployment rate among women in the same age group.

Bragta highlighted that Himachal Pradesh maintained this undesirable status throughout both quarters of the year, despite the Congress party's promise to generate employment for one lakh youths in the first year and five lakh youths over five years.

According to Bragta, the Congress government failed to deliver on any of these assurances.

Praising the central government led by Narendra Modi for consistently providing employment opportunities, Bragta asserted that Modi's guarantee is the only one that holds true in the country.

In a scathing jibe at the Sukhu government, Bragta said that the Himachal Pradesh government plans to celebrate the state's unenviable top position in unemployment on December 11th!

He condemned the Congress government for dissolving the Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission upon assuming power, leading to delays in result announcements and causing frustration among unemployed youth who had taken exams.

Bragta called on the Chief Minister to explain how he intends to address the dire unemployment situation in the state.
