Sudhir Sharma vs SP Sanjeev Gandhi: Courtroom Drama Turns Political Showdown
Dharamshala: The political temperature in Himachal flared up after Dharamshala BJP MLA Sudhir Sharma hit back hard at SP Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi—this time, with a legal punch.
Sharma announced he’ll file a criminal defamation case against Gandhi, accusing him of dragging his name into the horse-trading row without evidence.
This tit-for-tat erupted after a video clip of the High Court proceedings—where the judge reportedly reprimanded SP Gandhi for a botched-up probe into the mysterious death of HPPCL GM Vimal Negi—was circulated online.
Gandhi cried foul, accusing Sharma of “tampering with court footage” to malign his image and violating court protocol.
He rushed to the High Court, alleging that the video leak was stage-managed and politically motivated.
Sudhir Sharma, however, is unfazed. He says the court proceedings were part of an official live stream—nothing was doctored or illegal.
“My name is not in any FIR. I haven't been summoned or even investigated,” Sharma clarified in his video statement, branding Gandhi’s claims as “baseless and defamatory.”
The matter is now a full-blown legal and political slugfest. Sharma has slapped a legal notice on Gandhi, is preparing a defamation case, and has even hinted at moving a privilege motion in the Assembly.
Meanwhile, SP Gandhi is also pointing fingers at the state DGP, alleging a conspiracy against him from within the force.
With the CBI now probing the Vimal Negi case and Gandhi planning to challenge the court’s transfer of investigation, this episode is far from over.
The BJP and Congress are watching every move—because this isn't just about a case anymore, it’s about clout, control, and credibility.
