HP Police Gears Up for 12th Marathon with a Message Against Drugs
Shimla | 27 June 2025
Himachal Pradesh Police will organise the 12th HP Police Marathon on Sunday, 29th June, at Ridge Maidan, Shimla. The event aims to spread awareness against drug abuse.
The theme this year is “नशे को मात, देंगे एक साथ” (Say No to Drugs, Let’s Stand Together). The marathon promises to be more than just a fitness event — it is being projected as a movement.
Over 2,500 participants have already registered. Officials expect the number to cross 4,000 by the race day.
In a special gesture, 28 children from the Institute for Children with Special Abilities, Dhalli, have joined the campaign.
Ten other differently-abled participants from across the district have also enrolled.
The Mall Road and Ridge are now full of vibrant hoardings, banners, and posters.
Tourists and locals are stopping to click photos and read the anti-drug messages.
The children posed near Gaiety Theatre with event standees. Their excitement captured the spirit of the campaign.
DGP Ashok Tewari appealed to the public, civil society, and youth to join the cause.
> “Let’s join hands to defeat the drug menace. Together, we can build a healthy, vibrant Himachal,” he said.
The event will begin with a Pledge Against Drugs, to be led by the Governor. The Chief Minister will preside over the prize distribution ceremony.
The stage is set.
The message is clear.
Run for a drug-free Himachal!
