Three Dead, One Missing as Torrential Rains Batter Himachal
Shimla: At least three people have died and one person is reported missing after torrential rains lashed Himachal Pradesh since last night, wreaking havoc across Mandi, Hamirpur, and Shimla districts.
Two others were rescued safely as landslides and flash floods caused widespread devastation.
Chief Minister expressed grief over the deaths, saying, “This is a very difficult time for our state. The changing climate has created a new scene of destruction, which is deeply distressing.”
He confirmed that rescue operations are underway at “war level” to trace the missing person and provide relief in all affected areas.
“I have instructed the administration to prioritize rescue and relief work. My condolences are with the bereaved families,” he said.
The CM also urged citizens to remain alert, citing a fresh warning from the Meteorological Department for heavy rainfall in parts of the state today.
“Please follow the administration’s guidelines and stay safe. Together, we will overcome this crisis,” he assured.
