As per the information, both tourists were staying at a hotel in Manali on Saturday and had reached Sissu on Sunday by car.

In the afternoon, they climbed onto a damaged iron bridge near the helipad. Unfortunately, one of them slipped, and the other tried to save him — but both fell into the fast-flowing Chandra River.

Rescue teams are actively working at the site. The police and local administration have informed the families of the victims, and an investigation has been initiated. The recovered body was identified through an ATM card found in his pocket.

Search operations continue at the site, and there is hope that the second tourist will be found soon.

This heartbreaking incident is yet another reminder of the need for extreme caution in mountain regions, especially near riverbanks during monsoon or glacier melt seasons.
