Monsoon Advances, Orange Alert Extended – More Rain Expected

The southwest monsoon has steadily advanced into Himachal today. The India Meteorological Department has issued orange-level warnings for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Una, Hamirpur, Kangra, Sirmaur, Shimla, and Solan through June 25 .

Persistent downpours have triggered landslides along key routes: the Dharamsala–Kangra highway at Sakoh remains closed for clearing operations; Upper Shimla’s Tiuni–Hatkoti road and Jutogh road are also affected.

Local authorities are urging travelers to avoid landslide-prone segments and motor along cleared detours only.

 2. High Court Reprimands Government Over RERA Delays

During hearings today, the Himachal Pradesh High Court sharply rebuked the state government for stalling appointments to the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), labeling the hesitation “a deliberate attempt to stall justice.”

The court has demanded official notifications proclaiming the RERA chairman and members by June 25, and reiterated its ₹5 lakh fine for any further delay

Crime Watch: In Una, a youth using the handle "Sharp Shooter Nabhi Wala" posted death threats targeting the Deputy CM and a local MLA on Facebook—later deleted. An FIR has been filed, and the investigation is ongoing .

Tourist Mishap: A 10‑year‑old girl fell from an unauthorized zip‑line in Manali.

She sustained serious injuries and is being treated; the state government has reportedly launched an inquiry and pledged action against hazardous operators. The operator was not booked, no FIR lodged, alleged tourists.
