KALPA:
After sitting on files for nearly 17 years, the state government finally handed over just 25 land titles under the Forest Rights Act in Kalpa. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu used the occasion to pat his government on the back—but locals weren’t all clapping.
“Seventeen years for 25 pattas? That’s not reform, that’s delay by design,” said a tribal rights activist.
CM Sukhu said 460 land leases have been granted across the state, but activists say most claims are still stuck in red tape.
Announcements Galore, Ground Work Missing
The CM rolled out ₹48 crore worth of projects—
₹29.88 cr Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex
₹8 cr DIET auditorium
₹10.60 cr Youth Hostel
New CBSE schools & day-boarding facilities
₹100 cr for medical gear in govt hospitals
He also launched health check-ups at the doorsteps of 70+ seniors. But locals say roads, hospitals, and basic amenities are still broken.
🛑 BJP Blamed, Centre Slammed
Sukhu accused the BJP of misusing ₹68,000 cr in central grants, returning ₹50 cr meant for the Una Drug Park, and wasting funds on “freebies.”
He said the Centre hasn’t given a paisa for ₹10,000 cr disaster damage, while his govt released ₹4,500 cr from state resources.
Vimal Negi Case: Politics Over Justice?
The CM took a swipe at the opposition for "politicizing" the Vimal Negi case, promising justice. But no fresh updates were shared. Locals remain unconvinced.
Sukhu flaunted schemes for orphans, widows, and women’s groups—announcing ₹10,000 for a local sports team and ₹1 lakh for five SHGs. Critics called it “token relief, not transformation.”
Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi praised the CM’s visit, but the ground truth in Kinnaur tells a tougher story: big speeches can’t fill potholes, fix schools, or restore faith.
