NAAC Pulls Up Al-Falah University for Falsely Claiming Accreditation
Chandigarh/ New Delhi/Faridabad, November 13: The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has issued a stern show-cause notice to Al-Falah University, Faridabad, for allegedly misleading the public by displaying false accreditation claims on its website.
It was the same university which hogged the limelight after the doctor involved in terror module has links in the university, sources revealed .
In the notice, NAAC stated that the university is neither accredited nor has it volunteered for the first cycle of Assessment and Accreditation (A&A).
Despite this, Al-Falah University in Haryana has mentioned on its official website that its constituent institutions — Al-Falah School of Engineering and Technology (since 1997, Graded A by NAAC) and Al-Falah School of Education and Training (since 2006, Graded A by NAAC) — hold “A” grades from NAAC.
Calling the claims “absolutely wrong and misleading,” NAAC said the false display of accreditation information misguides students, parents, and other stakeholders.
The council has sought an immediate explanation from the university, warning of further action if satisfactory clarification is not received.
The development comes at a time when regulatory authorities have stepped up scrutiny on higher educational institutions over false claims and fake accreditation statuses — an issue that has raised serious concerns about transparency and accountability in India’s higher education sector.
