Auckyites Take Lead in Promoting Youth Leadership and Service
Shimla, October 28 – Auckland House School for Girls has set a new example for others to follow. The school has formally installed the Interact Club of Leading Auckyites, taking a bold step to promote youth leadership and social responsibility among girls.
The response was overwhelming. One hundred seventy students signed up as founding members — a record number for any school Interact Club in the region.
The initiative is backed by Rotary International and its mentoring team of Rotarians — Rtn. Puja Goyal (President), Rtn. Harpreet K. Sembi (Secretary), Rtn. Surbhi Karol (Club Learning Facilitator), Rtn. Kalyani Negi (Director International Service), and Rtn. Meena Chandel (Director Vocational Services & Coordinator, Interact Club of Leading Auckyites).
They inspired the girls to take charge, lead projects, and make a difference in the community. The message was clear — leadership begins with service.
The Interact Club will focus on community outreach, environmental drives, and welfare programmes. The idea is to build confidence, compassion, and teamwork among students.
The school management said the club will be a powerful platform for girls to channel their energy into purposeful work. It will also strengthen their sense of empathy and discipline.
With this, Auckland House has become a role model for other schools — showing that leadership can start early and that young girls can lead the change.
