Meerut Officer Caught with Cash, Gold & Crores in Dubious Assets.
New Delhi/Meerut, Nov 19
The CBI has blown the lid off yet another corruption case inside the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), registering a Disproportionate Assets case against the Additional Director of CGHS Meerut.
The officer was already trapped on August 12 while taking a ₹5 lakh bribe—part of an alleged ₹50 lakh demand.
Fresh searches have uncovered ₹29.50 lakh cash, over ₹50 lakh in jewellery, property papers and massive investments in the stock market and mutual funds.
Preliminary estimates show the officer amassed ₹2.06 crore in assets disproportionate to his known income between 2020 and 2025.
The case once again exposes how CGHS—meant to provide medical support to government employees—has become a hotspot of bribery, inflated bills and procurement scams.
While patients struggle for basic services, corrupt insiders continue to mint money.
CBI says the investigation is on and more names may surface soon.
