New Delhi, July 25: Following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Friday declared that its agitation would continue until its remaining demands are met, including compensation for the families of students who allegedly died by suicide in connection with the examination crisis and action against police personnel over the crackdown on protesters.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke welcomed Pradhan's resignation, calling it "a victory for democracy," but asserted that the movement was far from over.
"This is democracy. He has resigned. We have two more demands. We won't go like this," Dipke said.
He demanded that the Central Government provide ₹1 crore compensation to the families of all students who allegedly died by suicide due to the examination crisis.
"Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned. But the families of the children who committed suicide should receive compensation of ₹1 crore. Every such family must get it," he said.
Dipke's second demand was action against police personnel over the alleged use of force during protests on July 20.
"These police goons who acted on the 20th—action must be taken against the police officers responsible," he said.
Ending his statement with a warning to the government, Dipke said, "Remember, do not mess with Cockroach."
The CJP said it would continue its agitation until both demands are addressed, even after securing the resignation of the Union Education Minister.
