BREAKING: OPERATION SINDOOR LAUNCHED — Army Gets Free Hand to Hit Back After Ceasefire Breach
New Delhi, 11 May 2025 — Tensions flared along the western borders last night as ceasefire and airspace violations were reported, prompting swift action from the Indian Army. In response, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi reviewed the security situation with top Army commanders overseeing the Western front.
Following the high-level review, General Dwivedi launched Operation Sindoor, giving full operational freedom to commanders to respond decisively. The Army has been authorised to initiate kinetic action in case of any further violation of the ceasefire understanding, which was reaffirmed during the Director General Military Operations (DGMO) level talks held just a day earlier on May 10.
The move signals India’s strong resolve to uphold territorial integrity and maintain peace on its terms — with force, if required.
