National Space Day: DRDO Salutes India’s Space Journey, Chandrayaan-3 Achievement

New Delhi, August 24: National Space Day was observed with pride as India celebrated its remarkable progress in space exploration, with the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon’s south polar region on August 23, 2023, standing as a defining milestone in the country’s space journey.

The achievement has become a symbol of India’s growing capabilities in space science and technology, inspiring the nation to look beyond established frontiers and pursue new possibilities in exploration and innovation.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), while marking National Space Day, saluted the vision, scientific excellence and dedication of India’s space scientists, engineers and innovators who have contributed to the country’s advance into new technological frontiers.

DRDO said the Chandrayaan-3 achievement was a reminder that there is always more to discover beyond what is known and called for continued efforts to dream bigger, explore further and reach for new frontiers.

The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to advancing indigenous technologies and strengthening national capabilities, contributing towards a technologically empowered and secure India and the vision of #AtmanirbharBharat.

National Space Day also serves as an occasion to recognise the scientific institutions, researchers, engineers and young innovators whose work is expanding India’s capabilities in space and emerging technologies.
