New Delhi, May 8:
India has hit back with precision strikes on terror camps in Pakistan, days after the brutal attack on Indian forces in Pahalgam.
In a high-level press briefing, here today Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Colonel Sofia Qureshi, and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh laid bare Pakistan’s hand in sponsoring terror — and India’s calibrated military response.
“We’ve only hit terrorist infrastructure,” said Col Qureshi, brushing aside Pakistani propaganda.
“This wasn’t escalation. This was retaliation — controlled, measured, and focused on known terror hubs.”
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh slammed Pakistan’s lies about religious sites being targeted.
“They’re using these sites to radicalize and train terrorists,” she said, warning against the false narrative being spread globally.
Foreign Secretary Misri underlined that India’s actions were well within its rights. “Let’s be clear — the provocation started with the terror attack in Pahalgam. We’ve responded with full responsibility and zero ambiguity.”
The Indian side also called out Pakistan’s continued patronage of global terrorists and its refusal to act on international obligations.
“This is the same country that sheltered Osama bin Laden and hasn’t moved an inch on the 26/11 Mumbai attackers,” Misri pointed out.
India also hinted at a possible relook at the Indus Waters Treaty, saying six decades of goodwill have met with repeated betrayal.
An all-party meeting convened in Delhi showed rare political unity, with leaders across the board backing the Centre’s strong stance against cross-border terror.
As tensions simmer, India’s message is loud and clear — “We won’t escalate, but we won’t tolerate.”
