Shimla, July 6, 2024 - A major bank fraud case has rocked Shimla, revealing how a trusted relationship manager from a private bank in Kasumpti, Arvind Kumar, allegedly swindled over 68 customers out of ₹3.80 crore.

The Shimla police nabbed him last Thursday night after a series of complaints that exposed his deceitful schemes dating back to 2016.

Arvind, who had been a familiar face to many, lured his customers with promises of returns tripling their investments.

Investigation revealed how he cornered money to fund his crazy addiction to the online gaming.

Over the years, his charm and persuasive tactics convinced many to part with their hard-earned money, hoping for the substantial gains he promised.

However, when the returns never materialized, customers began to suspect foul play.

The alarm was raised when frustrated customers approached him, only to be met with excuses and delays.

Realizing they had been duped, the victims lodged complaints with senior bank officials.

It was bank's former manager who lodged  with  the Chotta Shimla police station.

In a swift move, the police arrested Arvind and brought him before the court, which has since remanded him in police custody.

The investigation into the fraudulent activities is now in full swing, with authorities sifting through the financial records and tracking the missing funds.

This incident serves as a stark warning to the public.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has repeatedly cautioned against falling for enticing investment offers, whether presented online or in person.

Arvind's case underscores the necessity for vigilance and skepticism in financial dealings.

The residents, now more wary, questions how such a betrayal of trust could happen within a supposedly secure banking system.

As the investigation unfolds, it’s a reminder for everyone to be cautious and verify the legitimacy of investment opportunities before committing their funds.

For now, the victims of Arvind’s schemes await justice, hoping the recovery of their lost savings can bring some solace.
