The scheme is already in motion, with eligible beneficiaries receiving its benefits. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of effective implementation to ensure that affected individuals receive their entitled support.
Under the scheme, disaster-affected families are provided with a complete LPG kit, including a cylinder, pressure regulator, hot plate, and suraksha pipe, with the state government covering all associated expenses, including LPG domestic refill costs.
Additionally, the government is supplying free ration to these families, which includes 20kg wheat atta, 15kg rice, three kg pulses, one litre of mustard oil, one litre of soya refined oil, one kg of double fortified salt, and two kg of sugar. This ration support will continue until March 31, 2024.
The Chief Minister commended the Himachal Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation for its commendable performance in the 2022-23 fiscal year, where it achieved a business turnover of Rs. 1955 crore with a net profit of Rs. 87 lakh.
He urged the corporation to embrace digitalization, become more commercial, and establish partnerships with prominent companies like Godrej and Bajaj for the procurement of fast-moving consumer goods, ensuring quality products at affordable rates.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Sukhu instructed the Corporation to open 52 new Fair Price Medicine Shops in government health institutions across the state, making medicines and surgical equipment accessible to patients at reasonable prices.
Key officials, including non-official directors of the Corporation, Principal Secretary of Food and Civil Supplies R.D. Nazeem, Principal Secretary of Finance Maneesh Garg, Secretary of Health M. Sudha Devi, Managing Director of State Civil Supplies Corporation Rajeshwar Goel and others were present.
