Shimla, July 1, 2024: In a move to keep  the information system ready amid the monsoon, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap has announced the public release of mobile numbers for all patwaris and kanungos.

Kashyap emphasized that with the onset of the monsoon, an effective information system is crucial.

This can only be achieved if accurate information is quickly received from patwaris and kanungos in the respective areas.

To facilitate this, the mobile numbers of all patwaris and kanungos in the district will be made public, allowing people to report issues promptly.

The monsoon often brings the risk of untoward incidents, and timely information is vital for effective relief efforts. Kashyap stated that the district administration is fully prepared to provide immediate assistance to residents.

The contact details of all patwaris and kanungos will be shared with the public through the media and will also be available on the DC Shimla’s website and Facebook page.

Similarly, mobile numbers for Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), Tehsildars, and Naib Tehsildars will be made public.

DC Kashyap urged the public to share the mobile numbers of their local patwaris and kanungos with neighbors and to report any emergencies promptly.

He also advised people to remain vigilant during the rainy season and to raise awareness among their communities.

Kashyap instructed all sub-divisional officers to provide detailed reports on areas at risk due to rain and homes in potential danger.

The administration is collecting comprehensive data on the safety measures taken for these areas and homes.

Officials Must Answer Calls 24x7

Under the DC’s orders, all patwaris and kanungos are required to answer public calls round-the-clock. Given that unexpected incidents can occur during the monsoon, immediate communication with the administration is crucial.

Field patwaris are responsible for ensuring swift communication of information to higher authorities.

Strict Action for Absence from Station

DC Kashyap has warned that patwaris and kanungos absent from their stations without proper authorization will face immediate action.

If any patwari or kanungo needs to leave their station for official duties, they must obtain prior permission from their superior.

Complaints Directly to the DC if Calls are Ignored

If patwaris or kanungos do not answer public calls, people are encouraged to file complaints directly with the DC.
