According to army sources, the operation started last night as part of an anti-terror mission.

The soldiers were engaged in a heavy exchange of fire with the terrorists, resulting in the loss of four brave personnel.

The encounter is still ongoing, with Indian security forces and the Jammu and Kashmir police having cordoned off the area to capture the terrorists.

The terrorists are believed to be heavily armed and have taken strategic positions, making the operation challenging for the forces.

The fallen soldiers were part of a larger contingent tasked with neutralizing the terrorist threat in the region.

The brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice are Captain Brijesh Thapa, Naik D Rajesh, Sepoy Bijendra, and Sepoy Ajay.

General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), and all ranks of the Indian Army have conveyed their deepest condolences to the families of these bravehearts. The operation was part of ongoing efforts to ensure peace and security in the region.

The Indian Army stands firmly with the bereaved families during this difficult time, honoring the sacrifices made by these soldiers in the line of duty.

Meanwhile, Army Chief  has briefed Defence Minister Rajnath Singh about the situation.

The Defence Minister has expressed his condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers and assured that the government is committed to supporting the armed forces in their mission to eliminate terrorism from the region.
