The initiative aims to set up 107 e-charging stations, with 53 at petrol pumps and 54 under the Transport Department.

As part of the effort to promote electric vehicles, the government has approved the creation of six green corridors, including routes like Parwanoo-Nalagarh-Una-Hamirpur-Sansarpur Terrace and Kiratpur-Bilaspur-Mandi-Manali-Keylang-ZingZingbar.

The Chief Minister also inquired about the tender process for electricity transformers and the status of green corridor tenders.

Highlighting the shift towards eco-friendly transportation, Sh. Sukhu mentioned the phased replacement of diesel buses in the Himachal Road Transport Corporation with e-buses. The government plans to initiate the tender process for 300 new e-buses soon.

Emphasizing the focus on environmental conservation, the Chief Minister stated that e-taxis would be introduced in government departments, providing self-employment opportunities for youth.

A dedicated website for e-taxi registration is in development and will be launched shortly.

The state government is set to launch the first phase of a Rs. 680 crore start-up scheme to empower youth with self-employment.

The Labour Department is now registering employers to match them with trained youth based on their requirements.

 Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena, Principal Secretary R.D. Nazim, and Managing Director of HRTC Rohan Chand Thakur were present.
