Shimla, February 16:

Rotary Club Shimla carried forward its long-standing tradition of social service by donating a wheelchair to Pradeep Kumar, a city resident who has been confined to bed for nearly eight years following a serious accident.

Pradeep’s old wheelchair had broken down, leaving him virtually immobile for the past two to three months and adding to the daily hardships faced by his family.

Understanding the urgency of the situation, the Rotary Club stepped in to bridge a gap that had made even basic movement a challenge.

The new wheelchair was formally handed over to Pradeep’s uncle during a brief and modest ceremony held at the Rotary Town Hall.

Club President Karan Bamba, Treasurer Sachin Aggarwal, and Secretary Dr. Sundeep Sauhta were present on the occasion.

Speaking at the event, the club office-bearers expressed hope that the wheelchair would restore a sense of mobility, dignity, and comfort to Pradeep’s life, making everyday activities a little easier and more humane.

The gesture may have been simple, but its impact is profound—an example of how timely empathy and collective action can quietly change lives.

Rotary Club Shimla reiterated its commitment to continue supporting the underprivileged and differently abled through similar service initiatives in the future.
