Shimla: Himachal Pradesh's Public Works Minister, Vikramaditya Singh, today briefed Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on the extensive damage across the state and the ongoing reconstruction efforts by the Himachal Pradesh Public  Works Department (HPPWD).

Singh informed the Governor that he visited disaster-hit areas like Samej, Bagipul, Rajbhan Manikaran, and Malana, where significant loss of life and property occurred.

The Public Works Department has restored the Bailey Bridge at Bagipul within a record five days.

He further mentioned that the department has estimated a loss of around ₹500 crore due to the disaster. Singh has sought full support from Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to aid the state's recovery.

"Our goal is to make Himachal a strong and prosperous state," Singh stated. "We are working closely with the central government to ensure the state's development is unhindered, and we are committed to building the best Himachal possible."

The reconstruction efforts aim to elevate Himachal Pradesh to new heights with the cooperation of the central government.
