SHIMLA: In a groundbreaking move, three women personnel of the Himachal Pradesh Police Department have shattered gender norms by successfully completing the Basic Bugler Course at the HP Police Training College (HPPTC) Daroh.

This accomplishment marks their entry into the traditionally male-dominated arena of bugle-players within the force.

Lady constables Shivani, Shweta, and Neeshu have emerged as trailblazers, now proudly serving as buglers at the Indian Reserve Battalion.

Their journey signifies a significant stride towards gender inclusivity and diversity within the police force.

This initiative, spearheaded during the tenure of Shri Bimal Gupta, IGP as Principal of PTC, underscores the department's commitment to fostering an inclusive environment.

It reflects the progressive vision of the Director General of Police (DGP) to empower and encourage women to venture into roles previously monopolized by men.

Commenting on this historic development, the DGP emphasized the importance of breaking down traditional barriers and promoting gender equality within law enforcement.

He expressed pride in the achievements of these courageous women, affirming the department's unwavering support for their continued advancement in the force.

The inclusion of female buglers not only symbolizes a triumph over gender stereotypes but also serves as a source of inspiration for women across the state aspiring to pursue careers in law enforcement

As the HP Police force continues to evolve, such initiatives pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable future.
