Shimla, June 14:
In a joint effort to commemorate World Blood Donor Day, the Lions Club Shimla, in collaboration with the District Red Cross Society and the Blood Bank of Kamla Nehru Hospital (KNH), organized a blood donation camp at the iconic Ridge (Rain Shelter) on Friday.
The camp, inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner Shimla, Abhishek Verma (IAS), saw an enthusiastic turnout from tourists and local residents alike. “It’s not just about donating blood—it’s about saving lives and building a community culture of care and responsibility,” he stated.
Volunteers who donated blood were provided with refreshments, certificates, and mementos as a token of appreciation for their life-saving gesture.
Key members from Lions Club Shimla, including Secretary Lion M.K. Sharma, Project Chairperson Lion Mukul Sood, Lion Kapil Sood, Lion Gopal Vaid (VP), Lion P.S. Panwar, Lion Daleep Kumar, and others, participated in organizing the event.
