Shimla, May 6:

Light rain is likely at isolated places across Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday, according to the latest weather forecast issued by the Meteorological Centre, Shimla.

Places in mid and high hills, including Shimla, Kullu, Chamba, Kangra, Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti, may see light rain or light snowfall at isolated locations.

 Low hill districts such as Una, Bilaspur and Hamirpur may also receive brief light showers at isolated spots.

The weather is expected to remain largely dry across the state from May 7 to May 10.

Rain activity is likely to pick up again on May 11 and 12, with light to moderate rain or snow expected at a few places, especially in higher reaches like Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 40–50 kmph are also likely at isolated places during this period.

Over the past 24 hours, light to moderate rain was recorded at several places, including Sangrah, Shimla, Nahan, Solan and Palampur. Thunderstorm activity was reported in Shimla, Jubberhatti, Sundernagar, Jot and Kangra.

Temperatures remained below normal across most parts of the state. Tabo recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 0.8°C, while Una was the hottest with a maximum of 34.6°C.

The Met office has said minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to rise gradually by 2–8°C over the next 4–5 days.
