Shimla, April 28:
Acting on the Centre's directions, the Himachal Pradesh Police has completed a fresh verification drive of Pakistani nationals living across the state.
According to police, It is confirmed that 12 Pakistani nationals were identified during the exercise, with action taken based on their visa status.
"In Kangra district, 10 Pakistani nationals, all Hindus, are living legally on Long Term Visas (LTV), which remain valid as per the Ministry of External Affairs communication dated April 25, 2025.
Hence, no deportation action is required against them," DGP said in a statement issued on Monday.
Meanwhile, two Pakistani nationals who were staying in Solan district on medical visas were deported on April 26, 2025, after the expiry of their permits.
The DGP further clarified that no Pakistani nationals were found residing in other districts, including Baddi, Bilaspur, Chamba, Dehra, Hamirpur, Kinnaur, Kullu, Lahaul & Spiti, Mandi, Nurpur, Sirmaur, and Una.
"The status for Shimla district is still under verification and shall be updated shortly," he added.
Stressing on public vigilance, police urged citizens to report any suspicious activity involving foreign nationals by contacting the nearest police station or dialing the emergency helpline 112.
With the state already under pressure from natural disaster threats and increasing environmental concerns — much like the issues raised by cycling activists across Himachal’s valleys — the police reiterated that maintaining security and legal compliance remains a top priority.
