Tennis Volleyball in Himachal Pradesh has got a fresh push with a new leadership taking charge, driven by a mission-mode effort to revive and expand the game at the grassroots.

Yaduraj Chauhan, a resident of Kalgog in Kotkhai area of Shimla district, has been elected President of the Himachal Pradesh Tennis Volleyball Association. The new executive body of the association was constituted on March 1, 2026, at Himalayan Public School Nerwa.

The elections and reconstitution of the state body marked what many in the sporting fraternity are calling a new high for Tennis Volleyball in Himachal, a game that has largely remained on the margins despite its growing popularity in rural belts.

Along with Chauhan as President,  Gobind Singh Chaink was appointed Secretary. The Vice Presidents include Manish Thakur, Seema Mehta, Rameshwari Khagta, Rajendra Desta, Narayan Singh and Anjana Rana. Kulbhushan Mogta was named Joint Secretary, while Narayan Singh will serve as Treasurer.

Balveer Rolet and Yashpal Kapoor have been appointed Media In-charges, Gyan Mehta as Technical Director, and Kewal Bhandari as Assistant Director.

Ravindra Durgayik and Jagdish Chauhan were named Chief Advisors. Bhader Singh will function as Office Secretary, while Puneet, Rachna, Kritika, Usha and Gopal Rana have been inducted as members of the executive.

Much of the credit for this renewed momentum is being attributed to the sustained efforts of Gobind Singh, currently posted as DPE at Senior Secondary School Dewat in Chopal subdivision.

Working relentlessly in a mission-mode, he has been instrumental in taking Tennis Volleyball to schools and remote areas, motivating youth participation and rebuilding the organisational structure of the sport in the state.

With a full-fledged team now in place and a renewed focus on grassroots development, officials expressed confidence that Tennis Volleyball will gain wider recognition in Himachal Pradesh and provide new sporting opportunities to rural talent in the coming years.
