In a dramatic turn of events, an under-construction bridge at Sinyur on the Bharmour–Holi road in Chamba district was washed away after a powerful avalanche struck the area. The incident, which was captured live by locals, has been widely circulated on social media, highlighting the intensity of the natural calamity.
The bridge was a crucial link connecting Sinyur with the Bharmour–Holi route, and its collapse has effectively cut off the area from the rest of Chamba district, causing major inconvenience to residents.
Local MLA Dr. Janak Raj said the avalanche delivered a severe blow to the ongoing infrastructure work, disrupting road connectivity in the region. He has urged the Public Works Department (PWD) to take immediate steps to restore the bridge and reopen the route at the earliest.
Authorities are assessing the damage, while efforts are expected to be initiated जल्द to normalize traffic movement and provide relief to the affected population.
