Excise Commissioner Yunus said  that the raids were carried out based on confidential information.

As a result, 20 cases have been registered under section 43, with an additional case under section 39 of the Excise Act 2011.

An FIR has been lodged at the Jhandutta Police Station, Bilaspur district, pertaining to the case registered under Section 39.

During this operation, an illegal warehouse containing 210 boxes of English and country liquor was discovered and promptly handed over to the police.

The Excise Commissioner further disclosed that the crackdown on illegal liquor has yielded remarkable results, with teams from all districts seizing a staggering 750 cases of illegal liquor across 196 different cases.

In addition, 47,087 liters of Lahan (a substance used in illicit liquor production) were confiscated and subsequently destroyed, in accordance with the provisions of the Excise Act.

Stringent directives have been issued to all districts to take resolute action against the sale and transportation of illegal liquor, emphasized the Commissioner. He urged the general public to promptly report any incidents related to illegal liquor to the department.

Moreover, the Commissioner highlighted that the Excise Department has transitioned to an online system, enabling the issuance of licenses, permits, and passes electronically. This digital transformation aims to enhance transparency in the department's operations, he said.
