Shimla, June 29 — The eagerly anticipated Southwest Monsoon is set to advance further into Himachal Pradesh, ushering in a wave of relief for farmers, hydrowpower projects, and ecosystems and other stakeholders.
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that conditions are favorable for the monsoon's further advance into parts of West Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu over the next two days.
Forecast for the Next 5 Days:
- Low Hills / Plains: Rain is expected at many places.
- Middle Hills: Consistent rain at many locations.
- High Hills: Rain expected at a few places.
Weather Warnings:
- Heavy Rainfall: Isolated pockets may experience heavy to very heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning.
- Cyclonic Activity: A cyclonic circulation persists over northwest Rajasthan at 1.5 km above mean sea level, contributing to the prevailing weather conditions.

- Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur:
- Heavy to very heavy rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, likely at isolated places.
- Kinnaur, Lahaul & Spiti:
- Light rain expected at a few places with no significant warnings.

- Temperature: There has been no significant change in minimum temperatures, but average maximum temperatures have risen, with the highest being 37.0°C. Kukumseri reported the lowest temperature at 10.2°C.
